I am deeply passionate about using my voice for the little girl I once was. Everything I do is rooted in lived experience and a belief that children in care deserve more than survival. With the right support, creativity and understanding, it is always possible to turn things around and build a better future.
Sophia is a care experienced creative, speaker and social care professional who brings lived experience into training, engagement and creative practice. Her work is grounded in a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children in care and supporting professionals to better understand the impact of care experiences.
Alongside working in residential care, Sophia delivers presentations and creative work that support both children and professionals to engage with life stories, identity and emotional wellbeing. She uses photography, illustration and story telling to create meaningful opportunities for reflection, connection and learning.
Sophia has collaborated with organisations including Foster Wales, Practice Solutions, MYBNK and a range of local authorities , offering an authentic and trauma informed perspective shaped by both professional and lived experience . She is particularly focused on highlighting gaps in practice and supporting more compassionate, reflective and effective approaches within the system.
At the centre of Sophia’s work is a belief that every child in care deserves to be understood, valued and supported to build a positive future beyond the care system.
