I am passionate about high quality, responsive public services and keen to use my considerable experience in bringing citizens, commissioners and providers together in designing and delivering the right solutions for Wales in the future.

Martyn worked for 32 years in the public sector, 19 of these in Wales. He held a range of positions in councils in London and the South-East of England, focusing on corporate policy and performance management.

Martyn joined the WLGA in 2002, initially supporting corporate improvement across Welsh councils, going on to head up the Social Services Improvement Agency and then becoming Policy Lead for Social Services, playing a key role in the development of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act.

Working in West Wales from 2013, Martyn led on the establishment of the statutory Regional Partnership Board (RPB) and the oversaw the development and delivery of a wide-ranging regional programme for the integration of health and social care.
