On 2 October, Practice Solutions moved to a new home at One Central Square in Cardiff. It is an exciting step for us, and an emotional one too.
Nearly twenty years ago, Sarah Day and her father and company founder, Gabe Conlon, decided it was time to move Practice Solutions out of their home office. Sarah still remembers visiting the empty space at Tŷ Antur in Abercynon with her little daughter Jess bundled into her car seat. Sitting on the floor together, they hoped they were making the right decision.
They were. Tŷ Antur became much more than an office. Before the pandemic, it was a hive of activity: colleagues and visitors coming and going, national meetings, conversations at the kitchen sink, shared lunches and walks along the River Taf at one o’clock. The pandemic changed how we worked and how often we gathered there, but it did not diminish the place Tŷ Antur holds in our story.
Across those years, people joined us, built careers with us and helped us through challenges. We celebrated successes and said difficult goodbyes. As Sarah reflected when she closed the office for the last time, ‘These offices hold an extraordinary number of moments and memories.’ We are grateful to everyone who made them.
That history gives us confidence as we look ahead. Practice Solutions began around a kitchen table, grew at Tŷ Antur and is now ready for its next chapter in the heart of Cardiff. Each step has brought more people, ideas and experience into our work. This move gives us a place to bring them together.
At One Central Square, we want to open our doors more often: to our team and associates, to the clients and partners we already work alongside, and to people we have yet to meet. We look forward to sharing ideas, tackling difficult questions together and finding new ways to support the public sector and the communities it serves.
A new address does not change what matters to us. We remain committed to working with care, building strong relationships and helping people and organisations make a lasting difference. We arrive in Cardiff with fresh energy, renewed purpose and confidence in what we can achieve together.
To everyone who has been part of our journey so far: thank you. We hope you will come and see us in our new home. There is work ahead that matters, and we cannot wait to get started with you.
