Last month, Shelley Quick joined Practice Solutions as our new Digital Marketing Assistant. We asked her to talk about her experience so far, what she’s learned and what she’s looking forward to:
Joining the team as Digital Marketing Assistant
It has already been one month since I joined Practice Solutions as the Digital Marketing Assistant! From the very first day, I was welcomed with warmth, encouragement and was immediately immersed in a whirlwind of exciting projects. It has been a great way to get to know the company and understand the pace and purpose behind Practice Solutions’ work.
One of the biggest things I have learnt so far is how broad and impactful the work across Practice Solutions is. There are so many events happening for different organisations and it is clear that curiosity and asking questions are essential to understanding the company’s structure. I have also realised how valuable it is to tap into the expertise of those around me- the support and time my colleagues have shared has been invaluable.
The NSCC Network hosts four webinars a year and I recently attended my first one. It was a standout moment, the session featured Amy Lewis from Just Checking Ltd, who shared insights from the ‘What Does Good Care Look Like?’ podcast. Her focus on lived experience, values and sector improvement was incredibly inspiring and reminded me exactly why I wanted to be part of this space.
I have also really enjoyed putting together the October edition of the NSCC Network newsletter. It gave me a chance to get hands on with the tone, layout and messaging. I am looking forward to producing these each month. It has also opened opportunities to connect with Founding Partners and Members, which has been a lovely part of the process.
I’ve recently started exploring Adobe Express to support my work in digital marketing. One of my colleagues kindly walked me through the basics which gave me a starting point for using it in my day-to-day tasks. I’m looking forward to experimenting more with layouts and refining visuals, and I’m excited about the creative possibilities it offers.
Looking ahead, I am looking forward to the National Social Care Conference in October, as well as the upcoming NSCC Network webinars and Insight Sessions. I can’t wait to keep developing my skills at Practice Solutions, building relationships across the sector and finding new ways to support the team’s work.
